NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY

Assalaamu ‘alaikum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakatullah

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Let us say tahmid and thank toward the presence of The Almighty God  because by His grace we can all gather in this place to commemorate the Day of The National Education commemmorated annually on May 2.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Education to a nation that is being developed is a very fundamental thing because it concerns the quality of a nation. Because with education means a nation that has prepared the cadres or the generations of people ready to used, able to continue the ideals of the Indonesian that has been initiated by our founding fathers, which is based on Pancasila and 1945 Constitution. If we see in the 1945 Constitution, fourth paragraph, there explained that The State of Indonesia is obliged to the intellectual life of the nation.  Similarly, 1945 Constitution, article 31 paragraph 1 reads : “Every citizen has right to receive education”

Education makes people could find out which one that can bring benefits and which one bring  madhorot. Education is also the separator between the ignorant/stupid with people who are wise/clever. With education people will occupy a high or elevated in rank by Lord. One word of Allah SWT (Q.S Al Mujadalah, Paragraph 2).

Meaning : O ye who believe when it is said unto you: “Make a great chance joining in the majlis, then do it lapangkanlah, Allah will give spaciousness for you. And when it is said : “Stand ye,” then stood up, Allah will make high those who believe among you and those who were given some degree of knowledge. And Allah is informed of what you do.”

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Indonesian Government in the 1945 Constitution has launched the compulsory education of its citizen since the age of 7 years. So in Islam, a few centuries ago, since the prophet was still alive has been declared compulsory education for his people. In order to be the knoeledged-people, has knowledge, be the people who are not shackled by ignorance.

So in commemorating The National Education on May 2 in this year, let us bring into  basic concepts reality for educators who have been declared by Ki Hajar Dewantara as character of National Education. For education that has been programmed by the government can be realized. Let us increase the quality of our learning in our studies, whether science, religion or general, knowledge related to worldliness and afterworld. Because Prophet Mohammad promised to the students of knowledge with heaven.
